pictures don’t due this deer justice. he was between 10-11 years old. watched this deer every year on camera and in person since he started growing unique racks and we named him unicorn. i was blessed for to all come together on a very special day. just a lil story in august that year i decided it was this deer or tag soup. all season my nephew kept asking when we going bub. i kept telling him not yet. then one day i called him said this evening we are gonna go get him. i wish we could have gotten better film but unfortunate things happen and footage was to dark to use due to the window tint. anyways we are in a blind and a solid hour before dark something sneezes to our right  my nephew austin looks out his side and there he stands 35 -40 yards away on the flat his side the blind is over looking. he’s says bub don’t move unicorn is right below us. i said are you sure he said no doubts. unicorn stands at the scrape we have ran all year with pw  products for a few minutes before heading toward the upper food plot. i told him to take the bow. he simply refused nope ur hunting him you’ve ben waiting. i argued with him for a few minutes until unicorn left the scrape. as he was taking his good ole time to get to the upper plot he stops 5 yards from the corner of my box blind and proceeds to stand there until almost dark without moving. my nephew can see him but i cannot at all yet. i’m looking at my phone watching the minutes go by and finally with one minute to spare before end of legal light i got my shot. in the end it’s still hard to believe it all worked out. waiting patiently and killing a buck of this age on the first day hunting for him is a memory i’ll never forget. yes i hunt/ plan / scout everyday of the year that i can. but i can’t say it enough to people you have to hunt deer when they are killable. some of these old wise bucks are only killable one or 2 days of season. if ya do ur homework and put in the effort you will be rewarded. i was planning on bring unicorn to the bash but with the rain i decided to leave him home. sorry for such a long post. i have ben mocking since the 90s. i have used many products but none as fresh as pure whitetail’s buck or doe pee. cash and diamond are a deadly combination. good luck this season everyone and remember shot what makes ya happy !
